the world form it, some people are lucky and some people are not.
Nigeria’s promising fashion designer disrupting the fashion industry is the eclectic
Tokyo James is on the cover of the latest issue of
Guardian Life Magazine.
He has followed the natural progression of his career in the fashion
industry as a Stylist and Creative Director for digital campaigns for
brands like
Brioni, Issey Miyake, Puma Black label, House of Tara and
Inglot to starting his own eponymous fashion line and now the fashion Creative Director for
Accelerate TV. The Nigerian fashion industry needs a manual and James shares his views.
I
hear so many people talk of the Nigerian way, what does that mean? For
me it doesn’t mean anything! We understand there are certain constraints
and challenges that other economies don’t suffer from but where there
is a will there is a way and I feel that I have been able to prove that
quality that the West can give can be done here too.
